This quick guide demonstrates the use and a brief explanation of the default Note tags in Curve Hero.

1 - Appointments
- If a Note is created on a patient's appointment, it will automatically tag this note under the Appointments Note tag. An asterisk will display on the Appointment Heading in the Scheduler to indicate the appointment has a note attached to it.
- If a Note is added from the Notes module or from the Sidekick, and tagged with the Appointments tag, it will not be attached to a specific appointment.
- It will still display in the Sidekick when the Scheduler is open, or if Appointments is selected as the Notes category to display in the Sidekick.
- Invoice notes are created in the Billing module by right clicking on the invoice, then add note. Invoice notes will be already be tagged Billing.
- This note will show in the Billing module attached to that invoice.
- It will also display in the Sidekick when Billing is selected as the Notes category.
- A note created from the Sidekick, or from the Notes module can be tagged Billing, but this will not attach it to an invoice. It will still display in the Sidekick when the Billing module is open.
- It will also display in the Sidekick when the Billing module is open or when the Billing notes are selected to display.
- The Chart Label note tag is used for labels attached to teeth in the Charting module. This does not include Condition Labels. To create a label on the odontogram, right click on the tooth, and click Create Label.
- Whatever is typed as the label, is also created as a note with the tag Chart Label.
- The Clinical note tag can be used to for notes that pertain to something clinical with the patient, but is not the tag to attach to visit or appointment notes.
- This note tag will only display in the Sidekick when the Charting module is open, or the Notes category is set to Clinical.
- The Clinical History note tag is the default for all clinical notes attached to a visit. Many offices like to start their clinical visit notes prior to check-out. In Charting, in Planning mode, right click the Visit to bring up the Visit menu.
- Click Add Note. This attaches the note to the Visit.
- Notes created on the Treatment Plan Card that are attached to the Visit, will initially be tagged Treatment Planning.
- When the visit is checked-out, it moves to Charting History. The note created in Planning mode is still attached to its visit and linked to that date of service.
- The note tag automatically changes to Clinical History as soon as the check out is complete.
- Notes tagged Clinical History can be created directly in Charting History. Right click the procedures in the Charting History box.
- When a note is created this way, it will be automatically tagged Clinical History, and attaches the note to its date of service.
- Clinical History notes can be viewed in the Charting module in History mode, or viewed and accessed from the Sidekick.
- A note added from the Sidekick or from the Notes module, and tagged Clinical History will not be attached to a visit or appointment.
- The Correspondence note tag can be used to record a correspondence between a Curve Hero user and the patient.
- This note tag can only be added from the Sidekick, or from the Notes module, and will only will only show on the list of created notes under the Notes module and on reports concerning Notes.
- The Critical note tag has a different function than the others. By default, it will always be in the Sidekick regardless of what module is open.
- The Critical note tag can be used to record critical information about the patient that will be advantageous to display in the Sidekick when the user is in any of the Curve Hero modules.
- When a patient has a note tagged as Critical, Notes will display red in the Sidekick.
- A note tagged as Critical may not always be pertinent. A note tag can easily be changed. Right click the note to bring up the Notes menu.
- The Deposits note tag can be attached to a deposit in the Billing module, and will indicate the note contains information pertaining to a deposit.
- A note created this way will have the Billing note tag by default. The Deposits note tag will have to be selected and attached to the note.
- A note created from the Sidekick or the Notes module and tagged Deposits, will not be attached to an invoice or appointment, and will only display in the Sidekick when Deposits is selected as the Notes category.
- The Education note tag can be used to indicate a patient history of the Education videos or other educational material.
- Notes tagged Education will display in the Sidekick if the Education module is open.
- The Files note tag is used to categorize notes which contain information about files, typically specific to the Files and Letters module.
- A completed form saved in Files and Letters is not assigned a note tag of Files, and notes cannot be attached directly to a specific file or folder in the Files and Letters module.
- The General note tag can be used to categorize any note that does not fit under another category.
- A General note can only be created from the Sidekick or Notes module, and is not directly attached to any appointments, invoices, visits or anything else.
- The Image note tag allows a note that contains information concerning the images captured for the patient to be tagged accordingly.
- This note cannot be linked to the existing images or mounts, or to the appointment or visit. It displays in the Sidekick when the Charting module is open, or Image is selected as the Notes category.
- The Insurance note tag can be used to track any notes containing information about the patient's insurance, and will display in the Sidekick when the Insurance module is open.
- A note can only be tagged Insurance by default if it is added from the Sidekick when the Insurance module is open.
- This does not attach the note to a patient's insurance policy. Notes attached to a patient's policy are Plan Notes, and they are added directly onto the Plan Information page in the Insurance module.
- The Letters note tag can be used to categorize notes which contain information about letters, typically in conjunction with the Files and Letters module.
- This note tag will only display in the Sidekick when the Files and Letters module is open, or if the Notes category is set to Letters. It will not be attached to a letter or letter template in Files and Letters.
- The Marketing note tag can categorize any notes specific to marketing information done by the office and pertinent to this patient.
- A note tagged Marketing will not be attached to an invoice or appointment, and can only be viewed from the Sidekick when Marketing is set to display as the Notes category.
- The Perio note tag is the default tag when a note is added to a perio exam entered in the Perio Charting module. This also attaches it to the specific perio exam from which it was created.
- If the Perio note is added from the Sidekick or from the Notes module, it will not be attached to a specific perio chart or date of service.
- The Pop-up note tag acts differently than other tags. It can only be attached manually, and does not have an assigned module where it will show in the Sidekick.
- When a Pop-up tag is attached to a note, that note will display whenever that patient is made the patient at the top of the Sidekick, no matter what module is open. Click anywhere outside the pop-up note and it will disappear.
- Notes regarding a patient's Prescriptions can be tagged accordingly. This note tag does not have a default module, and does not attach to a specific prescription.
- Add a note from the Sidekick or from the Notes module and select Prescriptions from the categories list to tag a note into this category.
- The Profile note tag is the default tag for any notes added from the Sidekick when the Profile module is open.
- These notes can specify personal details about the patient to start conversations naturally when the patient has an appointment. Profile notes display in the Sidekick when the Profile module is open.
- The Recare note tag categorizes notes relating to the patient's recare. The Recare note tag is not attached to recare visit notes by default.
- Notes tagged Recare do not show under the any default module. They are only displayed in the Sidekick when the Notes category is set to Recare.
- The Schedule note tag can be used to categorize a note which contains information about the patient's schedule.
- A note tagged with this tag will not be automatically linked to an appointment, and will not display in the Sidekick unless the Notes category is manually set to Schedule.
- The Treatment Planning Note tag is attached by default when a note is created in the Charting module by right clicking the Visit on the Treatment Plan Card.
- The Treatment Planning note tag is the default note tag for notes regarding treatment planned visits that are not checked out.

As soon as the Visit is checked out, the Treatment Planning note tag automatically changes to Clinical History.
23 - Memo
- The Memo note tag can be used to add the note as a task to the To Do list.
- To access the To Do list, click the To Do tab at the top of the Sidekick
- The To Do list displays notes with the Memo note tag and the To Do note tag.
- Notes tagged as Memo can be seen on the To Do list by all users in the database.
- The Complete note tag is typically used to mark To Dos and Memos on the To Do list as complete.
