This quick guide outlines the steps required to manually and automatically lock a batch of existing notes.

Steps
Section 1 - Accessing the Note Management Section

In the Sidekick, click the More menu, then click Administration.

In the Administration menu, under Practice information, click Note Management.

The Note Management module opens and the Note Locking section displays.

Section 2 - Setting the One-Time Note Lock Feature

To manually lock a batch of existing notes, click the One-time lock button.

Click the Note Tags drop-down menu and select the checkboxes for the tags you wish to lock.

Enter or select a date in the Lock notes created on or before field.

Click Schedule.
Note: One-time locks are processed overnight and will appear in the Schedule History once completed.

Section 3 - Canceling the One-Time Note Lock Feature

If the lock hasn't run overnight yet, you can click Cancel one-time lock in the One-time lock section.

- Confirm by clicking Cancel Lock in the dialog box.
Section 4 - Activating the Scheduled Note Lock Feature

To set a recurring rule for locking notes based on age, click Edit in the Scheduled lock section.

- Select your Note Tags and choose the Age of Notes (e.g., 1 day, 7 days).

Set the Schedule Status to Active and click Save.

Section 5 - Deactivating the Scheduled Note Lock Feature
- Click Edit in the Scheduled lock section, change the Schedule Status to Inactive, and click Save.
Section 6 - Viewing a Locked Note

Locked notes display a lock icon in the Sidekick. Click the note to view details.

The details will show red text indicating when the note was locked and by whom (either a user or "Curve Hero").
