This Quick Guide details how to edit an insurance plans coverage table.
Steps
- Select the patient in the Sidekick.
- Left click on the word 'Insurance' in the Sidekick.
- Double left click on the insurance plan in the coverage area to edit for the patient or double left click on the insurance plan in the family policies to edit for the entire family.
- Left click on 'Edit Plan' next to the insurance plan name.
- In the coverage details section, left click on the blue text 'Coverage Table'.
- A coverage table will open showing the major ADA code categories and the procedure codes in that range. To the right of the procedure code is the coverage percent (%) or a blue line. Click on the percent or blue line. Enter in the correct coverage and press enter on the keyboard.
To edit the ADA subcategory coverage percent, click on the ADA main category to expand. To the right of the subcategory is a range of codes. To the right of the codes is the percent or blue line. Click on the blue line. Enter in the correct coverage and press enter on the keyboard.
Note: Curve will now use the subcategory percent for the insurance portion calculation. The category percent will not be used.
To enter a percent for a specific code, click on the ADA subcategory. This will expand to show all individual codes under that subcategory. To the right of the procedure code, a blue line or percent will be listed. Click on the blue line. Enter in the correct coverage and press enter on the keyboard.
Note: Curve will now use the individual code percent for the insurance portion calculation. The subcategory percent or category percent will not be used for the calculation.
- To save the updates to the coverage table, click on OK to return to the plan information.
- Click Save Plan.
- Click Save Policy to complete the process.
Note: If no coverage is set for an individual procedure code, Curve will look to the Subcategory. If the subcategory does not have a percentage assigned, Curve will look to the Main Category to determine insurance coverage.
