This Quick Guide outlines creating and editing coverage details for insurance plans.
Steps
With the correct patient pulled up in the Sidekick, open Insurance
Double-click on the insurance plan in the Coverage area to edit for the patient.
Click Edit Plan next to the insurance plan name.
In the Coverage Details section under Deductibles, click Edit.
Enter in the family and individual deductible values, then click Save
In the Coverage Details section under Maximums, click Edit.
Similar to editing the deductible values, enter the maximum coverage amount of the insurance plan into each field. If there is no limit to coverage for certain values, please select Unlimited. When finished, click Save.
In the Coverage Table Summary section, click Edit Coverage Table.
Click the Coverage Percentages to edit amount each category that the insurance carrier will cover. If the carrier specifies coverage for subcategories, click the drop down arrow next to the category to expand it an reveal subcategories. When finished, click OK.
Note: If both a category and a subcategory have values, the system will use the subcategory value. Otherwise, the category value will be used.
In the Coverage Table Summary section, click Edit Payment Table.
The Payment Table is a list of all dental codes in the system, and the exact dollar amount insurance will cover for that code. By default the Amount column values will be blank until a value is entered. If any values must be entered, click the field under the Amount column and enter a value. Once finished, click OK.
Note: If values have been entered under both the coverage table and the payment table, the system will always use the payment table values first. If there is not payment table value, the coverage table will be used instead.
In the Coverage Table Summary section, click Edit Plan Details.
The Plan Details page is where details such as Age Limits, Downgrades, Frequencies, Waiting Periods, and Deductible Exemptions can be edited.
Each page contains fields that can be hovered over by the mouse cursor to reveal a pencil Icon to edit the field, and for some pages, a trash can icon as well to delete items. When finished making edits to the Plan Details, click Close.
When finished with all edits in the Insurance Plan Details page, click Save Plan.
Finally click Save Policy to .
