Description
This Quick Guide clarifies a crown coverage change made within Curve Hero to more specifically identify crown type and material coverage, opposed to previously being included under the more general restorative coverage umbrella. This article reviews the new ability to mass edit insurance plan coverage percentage amounts specific to crown type and material coverage.
Steps
-
This insurance coverage change within Curve Hero was driven by the need to separate both crown type and material codes from the general restorative code category umbrella. Previously, Crowns were listed as a subcategory underneath Restorative on the coverage table, and all crown codes would fall under general restorative coverage.

-
The image below displays what the previous coverage table looked like, with no existing category specific for Crowns, only Restorative.

-
There is now a new Crowns category, separate from Restorative, that will have its own coverage percentage amount assigned to it.

-
For example: Previously, if the codes for Gold Foil and Inlay/Onlay (which are considered crown codes) did not have their own set coverage amount, they would default to the "parent" 80% Restorative coverage amount before the separate Crowns category existed.

-
To avoid this, Curve now allows users to set a separate coverage amount for a Crowns category. Any crown codes can now default to the Crowns specifically-set coverage amount instead of the Restorative category amount. In this example, Gold Foil and Inlay/Onlay will now default to the 50% Crown Coverage amount instead of the 80% Restorative coverage amount.
