The following topics are covered in this quick guide:
Section 1 - Accessing the Transfer Fee Guide Module
- In the Sidekick, click the More menu, then click Administration within the drop-down list.
- In the Administration menu, within the Fee guides drop-down list, click Transfer fee guides.
- The Transfer Fee Guide module is displayed.
Section 2 - Transferring Fee Guides
- Click the Transfer from this fee guide drop-down menu.
- In the Transfer from this fee guide drop-down list, click the current fee guide.
- Click the To this fee guide drop-down menu.
- In the To this fee guide drop-down list, click the fee guide that will replace the current fee guide.
- The In these records step provides the option to select the record types that will be transferred from the current fee guide to the new fee guide. To do this, include a checkmark in the following checkbox(es):
- Patient profile default fee guides - When this option is selected, the current patient profile default fee guides will be replaced with the new fee guide for all patients in the practice. The patient profile default fee guide determines which fee guide will be used to calculate the patient's dental costs and procedures. This fee guide is selected in the Profile module within the Default Fee Guide drop-down menu (for more information, refer to the quick guide, Changing a Fee Guide for a Patient).
- Insurance plan default fee guides - If this option is selected, the current insurance plan default fee guides will be replaced with the new fee guide for all insurance plans in the practice. The insurance plan default fee guide determines which fee guide is associated with an insurance plan. This fee guide is selected in the Edit Insurance Plan dialog box within the Fee Guide drop-down menu (for more information, refer to the quick guide, Understanding Fee Guides).
- Insurance plan claim fee guides (applies to US users only) - When this option is selected, the current insurance plan claim fee guides will be replaced with the new fee guide for all insurance plan claims in the practice. The insurance plan claim fee guide determines which fee guide will be used for insurance plan claims. This fee guide is selected in the Edit Insurance Plan dialog box within the Fee Guide to send on Claims drop-down menu.
- The Update costs and amounts on step provides the option to select whether the fees for scheduled appointments and/or unscheduled treatment plans should be updated. To do this, include a checkmark in the following checkbox(es):
- Scheduled appointments - Selecting this option will update the cost and reestimate the insurance for all scheduled appointments in the practice according to the data included in the new fee guide. An audit log will be created in Curve Hero when the cost of a scheduled appointment is recalculated and also when an insurance reestimation is completed on a scheduled appointment.
- Unscheduled treatment plans - Selecting this option will update the cost and reestimate the insurance for all unscheduled treatment plans in the practice according to the data included in the new fee guide. An audit log will be created in Curve Hero when the cost of an unscheduled treatment plan is recalculated and also when an insurance reestimation is completed on an unscheduled treatment plan.
- Click the Transfer fee guides button.
- Review the content included in the Transfer fee guides? dialog box.
- After reviewing the content, click the Yes button to complete the transfer fee guides process.
- The transfer fee guides process is now complete and all fees associated with the new fee guide will be applied to all patients in the practice. To view the transfer status of the fee guide, begin by clicking the Reload icon in the web browser.
- The Transfer history section displays the status and history of all fee guide transfers that have been processed in the last 14 days.
Note: As the fee guide process cannot be reverted, ensure that all the information included in the Transfer fee guides dialog box is correct before proceeding to the next step.
Note: The transfer fee guide process may take up to 10 minutes to complete. As this operation will run in the background, additional activities can be performed in Curve Hero.
