Description
This quick guide outlines the steps required to add a referral to a patient's account which indicates how the patient was referred to a clinic.
About
It is recommended to include how a patient was referred to a clinic as this enables the clinic to understand and adjust their marketing efforts to maximize the revenue stream generated from their referral sources.
Steps
- In the Sidekick, click Profile.

- In the Profile module, within the Referred By section, click Add Referral.

- By default, the referred by drop-down menu is set to Contact. To select a different option, click the referred by drop-down menu.

- There are three options that can be selected to indicate how a patient was referred:
- Contact - Used when a contact previously saved in Curve Hero referred the patient.
- Arbitrary Text - Used when the patient was referred by someone other than a contact or if there is no applicable referral source.
- Referral Source - Used to select a specific referral source previously created in Administration.

- Included below are the steps required to add a Contact, Arbitrary Text, or Referral Source:
Option A - Contact
- After selecting Contact in the drop-down, click the contact search horizontal line.

- In the contact field, begin typing the contact's first or last name.
Note: As data is entered, matching entries will be included in the drop-down list.

- In the drop-down list, click the contact who referred the patient.

- By default, the referral date is set to the current date. To revise, click the referral date.

- In the calendar, select the referral date.

- Additional details can be added in the Note field if required.

- Enter the note details, then press Enter.

- Click the save icon to add the referral information.

- The referral information is now saved to the patient's account.

Option B - Arbitrary Text
- After selecting Arbitrary Text, click the arbitrary text horizontal line.

- Enter the referral details, then press Enter.

- Click the save icon to add the information.

Option C - Referral Source
- After selecting Referral Source, click Please Choose.

- Begin typing the source name and select the applicable referral source.

- Click the save icon to complete the process.
