Description
New columns have been added to Custom Reports which will allows users to create a custom report in Curve Hero to show the patients remaining insurance benefits for the patient, patients family, primary, and secondary insurance carriers. Here are some basic steps to create a custom report to show the remaining insurance benefits for your patients with insurance coverage.

Steps
Section 1 - Creating a Remaining Insurance Benefits Report
- Select the More Menu (the 3 horizontal lines above the Sidekick).
- Select Reports.
Select Create a New Report in the middle of the empty report screen.
(Note: If in reports with a report already generated, there is an option for New Report in the top right corner).
The Create New Report window will open. Enter a Report Name, select a Category, and choose a Report Type. Once the type is selected, the list of available columns to include in the report will appear.
Available Report Types with new columns:
- Adjustment Report
- Appointments Report
- Historical Billing Base
- Patient Demographics
- Patient Notes Report
- Payment Report
- Production Summary
- Recare Report
- Treatment Plans Report
Section 2 - Remaining Insurance Benefits Columns
To see remaining benefits, select at least these columns:
- Full Name
- Primary Remaining Individual Amount
- Primary Remaining Family Amount
You can also add columns for Secondary Insurance or Pat. Total Owing to see outstanding balances. After selecting your columns, click Finish.
Section 3 - Adding Filters
- Select Add a Filter in the lower left side of the Reports screen.
- Select Column (this appears above 'Add a Filter').
- To show only patients with remaining primary benefits, select Prim. Remaining Individual Amt.
- Select equal to and change it to is not empty.
- Select Apply Filters.
Section 4 - Adding Totals and Saving
Once the filter is applied, only patients with remaining benefits will display. Now, let's add totals to the bottom of your columns:
- Left-click on the space between the two thick horizontal lines at the bottom of the column you wish to total.
- Select Total for financial columns or Count for name columns.
IMPORTANT: Click the SAVE option in the upper right corner of the report window to preserve these settings.
