Description
This quick guide outlines the steps required to add a role and all applicable permissions for the role.
Steps
- In the Sidekick, click the More menu, then click Administration within the drop-down list.

In the Administration menu, within the
User management drop-down list, click
Roles and permissions.

In the Roles and Permissions module, click the
Add role button.
- In the Add new role dialog box, within the Name field, enter the name of the role.

In the Description field, enter a
description for the role.
Note: It is recommended to include a role description so as to provide clarity as to which permissions are required for the role.

Click the Save button.

The Edit Role and Permissions module is displayed.

Locate the applicable permission(s) by scrolling through
the permissions list or by searching for a permission as
indicated below:
Option I - Scroll Through the Permissions List
- Scroll through the permissions list to locate the applicable permission(s).
Option II - Search for a Permission
- In the Find permission search field, enter the applicable permission.
Note: As data is entered into the Find permission search field, the permissions search results will automatically display all permissions containing the search term(s).

To individually select the required permission(s) for the
role, include a checkmark in the checkbox
next to the applicable permission(s). To select all permissions
within a category, click the checkbox next to the
permission header.
Note: The search results will only display the permissions which contain the entered search term. If a checkmark is included in the checkbox next to the permission header, all of the permissions in the category will be included in the role even if they are not displayed in the search results.

After the applicable permission(s) have been selected, click
the Save button.
- The role is now included in the Roles and Permissions module.
Note: A role that has been added to the Roles and Permissions module is a custom role. These roles can be edited or deleted as required. Roles that are automatically generated by Curve Hero are default roles. These roles cannot be deleted or modified. The Curve Dental icon precedes all default roles.
