This guide will show how to add a soft token to an account for use with Rcopia.
Note: The provider will have a hard token mailed to them. The hard token looks like a key chain or pager. Each provider can also create a soft token, or something that can be accessed via an app on the phone or other device. This should be done prior to doing the identity proofing. The following are ways to access the VIP Access on various platforms:
VIP Access: iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®
- Download and activate VIP Access using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Choose one of these options:
- Download from the Apple® App Store by searching the Business category for VIP Access.
- Download from iTunes and sync your iPhone or iPod.
VIP Access: Android™
- Search Android Market.
- Search for VIP Access in the Android Market from your phone or Android device.
VIP Access: Windows® Phone (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon)
- Search Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
- Go to the Windows Marketplace site from your phone and search for VIP Access.
- Choose an option to download VIP Access. A mobile data plan with Internet access is required.
VIP Access: BlackBerry®
- Enter a URL. Download by entering m.vip.symantec.com into your phone's default browser.
Here's an example of VIP Access on iPhone:

Register or Add A Soft Token through Dr. First.
Sign into EPCS Gold. The sign in screen should appear as below:

Once you have logged into EPCS Gold, you can then either click on the 'Tokens' tab at the very top or the 'Manage Tokens' blue link underneath the 'Current Tokens' section on the right side of the screen.

Click on the orange 'Add New Token' button. You will then proceed to enter your new token credentials in the drop-down/written boxes below the 'Add Two Factor Authentication Token'.
Enter in the following information:- Token Manufacturer: select Symantec
- Token Issuer: select DrFirst
- Token Type: select 'soft' for the VIP Access app or 'hard' for the physical token
- Token Name: create a nickname to help you remember which token
- S/N or Credential ID: you will find this at the top of the screen in VIP Access or on the back of the hard token; letters must be capitalized and with no spaces in between the letters and numbers
- OTP/ Security Code: this number resets every 30 seconds
You will then click the 'Save' button at the bottom, the token is then attached to your EPCS account and can now be used in any future controlled substance script signings.
