Description
This quick guide provides an overview of the options available in the Billing module as well as the functionality of many of its features.
Steps
Included below is an image of the Billing module:
The Billing module contains the following features:
- Collapse/Expand - Provides the option to expand and collapse all transactions in the billing ledger.
- Add Invoice - Opens the Add invoice section. An invoice which includes specific line item fees can be created in this module.
- Add Account payment - Includes the option to add a Patient account payment or Insurance account payment.
- Add Deposit - Opens the Add Deposit module. The provider, payment type, and deposit amount can be entered in this module.
- More menu - The following options are available in the More menu:
- Add a credit refund.
- Create a claim (includes creating a claim for multiple invoices).
- Generate a tax receipt.
- Access the CareCredit payment calculator.
- Open the application form for the CareCredit credit card.
- Print statement - Opens the Statement options dialog box which enables statements to be printed within a specified date range.
- Notifications - Indicates important patient related billing messages, including:
- When a patient has invoices associated with other responsible parties.
- If a responsible party is selected from the Responsible party drop-down menu, a notification message will indicate that the ledger being viewed no longer applies to the initial patient but rather to the responsible party.
- Responsible party - Includes all responsible parties associated with the patient.
- Filters - Opens the Filters dialog box and includes the option to display the paid transactions for a specified period of time.
- Billing ledger - Displays the patient's transactions as well as important information related to the transactions including the date, type, details, and running balance.
- More options menu - Includes additional options for each transaction in the billing ledger.
Note: Most of the transactions in the billing ledger are associated with a specific color bar. For more information, refer to the quick guide, Billing Transaction Color Bar Legend.
Note: The options available in the More options menu can also be accessed by right-clicking the transaction header row.
