Section 1 - Charting History Layout
-
With the correct patient at the top of the Sidekick, click Charting.
-
The Charting module can be displayed in Planning or History mode using the buttons at the top of the Charting menu.
Note: A new patient's chart opens in history mode by default.
-
Click History. The History window displays at the bottom of the module with five columns: Date, Site, Line Item, Provider, and Notes.
-
The Site column indicates if items were Invoiced (completed at this practice) or Manually Charted.
-
Invoiced procedures cannot be deleted or edited in Charting History as they have already been billed; these must be managed in the Billing module.
Section 2 - Manually Charted Items
Manually Charted refers to anything added that was not invoiced from this practice, such as prior dental history or referred work.
-
Manually Charted line items can be edited. Click the Site to edit tooth numbers/surfaces, or click the Procedure/Provider fields to make updates.
-
To delete a manual item, hover over the procedure and click the Trash Can icon.
Section 3 - Show Deleted Items
-
To see deleted line items, right-click on the date, site, or line item and select Show Deleted Items.
-
Deleted items appear in pink under their original date. To hide them again, right-click and select Hide Deleted Items.
Section 4 - Notes Column
-
If a note is attached to a date of service, a Note Icon will display.
-
To add a note, right-click in the Notes column for that date and select Add Note.
-
Notes are distributed across all line items for that date. If multiple notes exist, a number in parentheses—e.g., (2)—will appear.
