Steps
Section 1 - Re-estimating Insurance in the Charting Module
Included below are scenarios that may require the insurance to be re-estimated within the Charting module:
The insurance was not initially available.
The insurance was not entered when the treatment plan was created.
The maximum insurance amount has been used and a more accurate estimate of what the insurance covers is required.
The following steps outline how to re-estimate the insurance within the Charting module:
In the sidekick, click Charting.

In the Charting module, the treatment plan includes the current insurance estimate(s).

To begin the process of re-estimating the insurance, right-click the applicable Treatment Plan tab, then click Re-estimate Insurance in the drop-down list.

In the Re-estimate Insurance? dialog box, review the displayed message.

After reviewing the message, click the Yes button to re-estimate the insurance.
Note: The re-estimate process will overwrite the current insurance estimate. This process cannot be reverted. This is especially important to keep in mind in cases where the insurance estimate(s) were entered manually as the entered data will be permanently deleted.

The insurance will be re-estimated and will display in the treatment plan.

Section 2 - Re-estimating Insurance in the Billing Module
Re-estimating the insurance in the Billing Module can be used in such cases when the insurance was not entered before checking out an appointment or when the insurance simply requires a re-estimate.
Included below are the steps required to re-estimate the insurance in the Billing module:
In the Sidekick, click Billing.

In the Billing module, where applicable, each invoice will include the current insurance estimate.

To begin the process of re-estimating the insurance, perform one of the following options:
Option 1
Right click the applicable invoice line item, then in the drop-down list, click Re-estimate insurance.

Option 2
Within the applicable invoice line item, click the More Options menu, then in the drop-down list, click Re-estimate insurance.

In the Re-estimate Insurance? dialog box, review the displayed message.

After reviewing the message, click the Yes button to re-estimate the insurance.
