Description
We have had some of our users report to us that the New Odontogram simply doesn't load on select machines. We have narrowed down the cause, but at this time are unaware of a solution.
Cause
This has been found to be caused by a technology called WebGL that is not functioning on that computer. WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D computer graphics and 2D graphics within any compatible web browser without the use of plug-ins.
In short, we use this to render the chart on screen. When it is not functioning on your computer, the chart cannot be shown.
Unfortunately at this time, we are not clear of what causes this technology to function on some computers, but not others. We believe it may have to do with blacklisting by Chrome, due to outdated GPU drivers or possibly the chipset itself, but are unsure.
Preventative Steps
Verify that WebGL is unavailable. You can do this by entering 'chrome:gpu' in your address bar. If WebGL is unavailable, you will see something similar to the image below:
