Description
This Library Article details which modules auto-tag notes when a note is created while inside the module.
Creating a note in the Notes module and adding a tag will not necessarily place that note in a particular module, with the exception of Correspondence, but the reverse may be true. For example, creating a note in Billing will automatically tag the note with the Billing tag. The purpose of this article is to specify which modules will automatically put which tags on notes.
Note Auto-Tagging Reference Guide
Below is a breakdown of the tag options available via the "Tags include" feature and which modules trigger them automatically:
[Reference: Note Tag Selection Menu]

- Appointments / Schedule: Automatically tagged when a note is created on an appointment.
- Billing: Automatically tagged when a note is added to an invoice or payment.
- Chart Label: Creating a label within the Charting module will trigger this tag.
- Clinical: Applied when a note is created within a Treatment Plan.
- Clinical History: Applied when a note is entered in the Charting History.
-
Correspondence: Selecting "Add Correspondence" in the Sidekick auto-tags the note.
Pro-Tip: Manually adding the "Correspondence" tag to any note will also place it in the Correspondence module.
- Perio: Notes at the bottom of a Perio exam add this tag (Note: Labels on the perio chart itself do not create notes).
- Treatment Planning: Notes created specifically in the Planning module are tagged.
-
Memo / To Do: These will be tagged accordingly.
Note: If created elsewhere, they may not appear in the Sidekick Notes; however, if created directly in the Sidekick Notes, they will appear in the ToDo tab. - Insurance: Please note that plan notes currently do not auto-tag.
