This will tell you what the keyboard shortcuts are for the Mac.
Use these macOS shortcuts to capture screenshots efficiently. By default, files are saved to the Desktop, while clipboard shortcuts allow you to paste (Command+V) directly into a chat or document.
Save Screenshot as a File (Desktop)
- Command + Shift + 3: Capture the entire screen.
- Command + Shift + 4: Capture a selected area.
- Command + Shift + 4, then Spacebar: Click a specific window to capture only that window.
Copy Screenshot to Clipboard
- Command + Control + Shift + 3: Copy entire screen to clipboard.
- Command + Control + Shift + 4: Copy a selected area to clipboard.
- Command + Control + Shift + 4, then Spacebar: Copy a specific window to clipboard.
Advanced Selection Controls
While selecting an area (using the Shift+4 combinations), hold these keys to adjust your selection:
- Spacebar: Freeze the size of the region to move the selection frame.
- Shift: Lock the aspect ratio to resize only one edge.
- Option: Resize the selection from its center point outward.
