This quick guide demonstrates how to add procedures to a patient's treatment plan.

Steps
Section 1 - Charting with Shortcut Buttons
1. With the correct patient at the top of the Sidekick, click Charting.
2. Procedures are added in Planning mode. If needed, click Planning at the top of the Charting menu.
3. Add procedures utilizing the Charting menu.
4. It is recommended to use Charting Shortcuts for the most efficient workflow.
5. Click the Shortcuts toggle button to access Shortcuts. Note: Buttons only display if configured in Administration.
6. Create buttons for common codes. This example shows buttons for a general dentist office.
7. Click Add Treatment Card to create a clean card for new treatment.
8. To add a composite filling, click Composite, then click or drag across tooth surfaces.
9. The filling paints on the odontogram and the code drops onto the Treatment Plan Card.
10. Shortcut buttons can include multi-codes, such as a crown and build-up on the same site.
11. Smart Shortcut buttons automatically select codes based on tooth type (molar, premolar, anterior).
12. Procedures not requiring a site, like a pano (D0330), can also be assigned to a button.
Section 2 - Charting by Adding a New Line Item
1. Add procedures directly to the card by hovering over a visit and clicking New Line Item.
2. In the dialog box, use the Search field to find codes by number or keyword.
3. Select the Site in the selector box if required.
4. Select the Material for the procedure when prompted.
5. Use the Units selector to set the appointment length based on your clinic settings.
Section 3 - Separating Procedures into Visits
1. Click the Treatment card re-sizer and drag it up to expand the view.
2. Drag a procedure downward to create a new Visit automatically.
3. Drag and drop additional procedures into the new visits to organize the plan.
4. Continue dragging procedures further down to generate Visit 3 or more.
5. Resize the card back to its original size using the resize tool.
6. Access these visits in the Sidekick by clicking the Charting summary triangle.
