Description
This Quick Guide Demonstrates how to run GoToMeeting even though your computer has a firewall.
Steps
Setting up a firewall to work with GoToMeeting requires a few extra configuration steps to ensure the software runs without interruption. This process involves two main actions:
Action 1: Enable GoToMeeting to Access the Internet
- The first time you host a GoToMeeting on a firewall-protected Windows computer, you will see a security prompt.
- Select the checkbox: Remember the answer each time I use this program.
- Click Yes (or Allow) to enable GoToMeeting to access the internet.
Action 2: Configure Your Firewall to Accept All GoToMeeting Files
To ensure consistent performance, you should manually allow the GoToMeeting components within your firewall console. Once configured, you should not need to repeat this process.
Norton Internet Security Firewall Instructions
- Right-click the Norton Internet Security icon in your system tray (near the clock).
- Select Open Norton Internet Security.
- Select Personal Firewall from the Status & Settings menu and click the Configure button.
- Select the Programs tab, locate GoToMeeting, and click Add.
- To begin adding files, select g2mcomm.exe and click Open.
- From the Program Control prompt, select Permit from the drop-down menu and click OK.
- Repeat the steps above to add any remaining GoToMeeting executable files.
