This quick guide outlines the steps required to create a credit refund.
About
Credits are typically created when a contact or insurance company has made an overpayment to a patient's account balance or any time the patient has overpaid. Deposits also create an account credit. A Credit Refund is issued because there is a credit on the account that will not be used toward additional procedures.
Steps
With the correct patient pulled up on the Sidekick, click Billing.

In the Billing module, click the More Options button to open the menu, the select Add Credit Refund.

On the Add Credit Refund screen, in the Date field, either enter the date or click the calendar to select a date.

Click the Provider drop down.

Select the applicable Provider from the drop down list.

Click the Payment Type drop down.

Select the applicable Payment Type from the drop down list.

In the Refund Amount field, enter the amount to be refunded. The refund cannot exceed the credit amount, which will be displayed in the upper right corner of the Add Credit Refund screen.

Click the Add button to add the credit refund to the patient's account.

The Credit Refund will display in the Billing module, The blue credit message at the bottom of the screen will either be reduced by the refund amount or disappear completely if the full credit was refunded.
