Steps
Section 1 - Opening the Exam Settings Dialog Box
In the SIdekick, click Perio Charting.

In the Perio Charting menu, click the Exam settings button.

Section 2 - Updating the Exam Order
There are six exam order options to select from in the Exam settings dialog box. Each user can select the option that best corresponds with their exam workflow.

The exam order does not affect the presentation of the Table view in the Perio Charting module. The exam order only sets the ordering that is used while an exam is being conducted.

The selected exam order is also reflected in the Site Selector drop-down menu.

Section 3 - Identifying the Start Measurement
1. The Start measurement section provides the option to begin the perio charting process with either the Pocket Depth (PD) or Gingival Margin (GM).

The Start measurement section also includes the option to either Complete all PD/GM first or Alternate line charting.

- Option A - Complete all PD/GM first
If the Pocket Depth (PD) option was selected in step one above, the exam order will begin by following the pocket depth sites. After all pocket depths have bene recorded, the exam will then follow the gingival margin sites. After all ginigval margins have been recorded, the items selected in the Chart these items section can then be charted.

Alternatively, if the Ginigival Margin (GM) option was selected in step one above, the exam order will begin by following the gingival margin sites. After all ginigival margins have been recorded, the exam will then follow the pocket depth sites. After all pocket depths have been recorded, the items selected in the Chart these itesm section can then be charted.

Option B - Alternate line charting
The Alternate line charting option alternates between the pocket depth and gingival margin for each site.

- Option A - Complete all PD/GM first
Section 4 - Seleting which Teeth to Skip
The Skip these teeth section provies the option to include or exclude specific teeth during the perio charting process. If a checkmark is included in the checkbox next to any of the teeth in the Skip these teeth section, the selected option will be excluded during the exam process.

The condition of all teeth contained in the Perio Charting module are based on the patient data included in the Charting module. If a patient has a condition that is included in the Skip these teeth section and the option to skip the condition is also selected in the Skip these teeth section, the Table view in the Perio Charting module will automatically fill the applicable sites in grey.

Section 5 - Updating the Items to Chart
To display items to chart during an exam, ensure a checkmark is included in the checkbox next to the items included in the Chart these items section.

The items to chart are included in the Perio Charting menu and also the Table view in the Perio Charting module.

Section 6 - Setting the Alert Value
The Alert Value is the value that determines which inputted exam values will be displayed in red within the Perio Charting module. The default Alert value setting is 4 (mm).

To change the Alert value, click the Alert value drop-down menu, then select a value in the drop-down list.

The Alert value is associated with the values contained in the Perio Charting menu and also the sites contained in the Graphical view and table view.
